New game, out now on Google Play

Jawless Fish Races

A quiz race for kids. You race your Sacabambaspis against three other fish, and the only way to swim faster is to answer questions. Made by the same two teams behind Jawless Fishtank.

How it works

Answer fast, swim faster

It's a study game that feels like a race. The other three fish answer on a timer and get some wrong too. They even have to read the question, so a long one slows them down just like it does you.

  • Right answers are the engine

Every question has four big answers. Tap the right one and your fish gets a burst of speed that fades over a few seconds. Keep answering and you stay fast. Stop and you drift.

  • Misses come back around

Get one wrong and your fish blushes pink, slows down a little, and the game shows the right answer. That question shows up again three questions later.

  • A study list at the end

When you cross the line you get a list of everything you missed, what you picked, and what it should have been. Handy right before a quiz.

  • Easy, Medium and Hard

Every topic has three levels, and each one keeps its own best time. Beating your best is half the fun.

  • Race your friends

One kid makes a race and gets a short code. Everyone else types it in. Same questions for all of you, and a computer fish fills any empty lane, so two kids is plenty.

  • Coins and fish colors

Every finished race pays coins, even last place. Spend them on 8 fish colors. They're just for looks, every fish swims the same speed.

Same teams, new game

From the folks who brought you Jawless Fishtank

FiveFour Games built it and Jawless Fish, the plushie people, produced it. After Jawless Fishtank we wanted to give the Sacabambaspis something to do besides float around looking surprised. Turns out it's pretty quick when it knows its times tables.

Stuff people ask

Where can I get Jawless Fish Races?

It's out now on Google Play. App Store and Steam are coming soon, and the buttons at the top of this page will light up the day they go live.

Is it the same game as Jawless Fishtank?

No. It's a separate game made by the same two teams, FiveFour Games and Jawless Fish. It uses the same Sacabambaspis art and sounds, but it's a quiz racer, not an idle pet game, and your fish tank doesn't carry over.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No ads, no purchases and no account. Coins are earned by racing and can only be spent on fish colors.

Does it need the internet?

Only for racing friends. Racing the computer works fully offline.

Can kids talk to strangers in friend races?

No. There's no chat, no public lobby and no matchmaking. You only race kids you gave your race code to. Nobody types a name either. Names are picked from a list, things like Sparkly Pebble.

What money do the money questions use?

US coins and dollars. Pennies, nickels and dimes on Easy, quarters on Medium, and making change from a bill on Hard.
